The ‘Obby ‘Oss is most famously seen in Padstow, Cornwall on May Day every year. At midnight on May Eve, villagers gather to sing the Night Song, then the town is decorated with flowers ready for May Day morning. Two male dancers dressed as ‘osses parade through the town during the day, trying to capture young maidens, before meeting in the evening at the maypole.
This greetings card, featuring a colourful cut-paper collage of folk dancers, is blank on the inside and comes with a brown, recycled paper envelope.
